I feel like this film was lacking a lot. Most importantly, I don’t like how the sexual assault was brushed over, and the story line was rushed and never mentioned again. They had all the opportunity to represent the trauma and aftermath of going through such an event and they failed incredibly in doing so. Another thing, I think the scene where Jared finally reached his breaking point was a little underwhelming. There was so much more I felt he should’ve said and talked about and he didn’t. I understand the rules they weren’t allowed to cross, but I still wish there was more character and relationship development between the other characters at the conversion therapy. The plot line of cameron committing is a very real thing that happens and once again they brushed it over and never mentioned it like it was nothing instead of giving it the representation it deserved. I also feel that the talk he had with his dad wasn't as powerful as it should've been. I think the lines used by Jared was a poor choice of the writers and I also think the actor of Jared could’ve executed multiple lines way better than he did.
