la réalisation est vraiment bonne imo, mais majoritairement le film a mal vieilli surtout sur les dialogues et l'acting qui est parfois catastrophique.
++ pour les personnages féminins qui ont quand même une personnalité propre pour l'époque, même si on passe pas le test de Bechdel lol (mais bon, 1963 quand même)

This film has a lot of heart and love. Clearly a personal story told by Kazan and frankly probably by many of the people involved in this movie. Trying to better oneself is always a tough journey, and this story tells that fantastically. Stathis Giallelis as Stavros is a wonderful character to follow, one you quickly want to see succeed and also to grow up and smarten up and toughen up so that he can succeed on a trip he might not survive out of sheer ignorance. It does get a been long winded at times and repetitive in story telling, but otherwise this movie is great:
