Initially I was loving this... Sort of... kind of. This was my type of stuff. Emotionally manipulative, nice looking trash with cinematography by Roger Deakins. Easy to please, sappy garbage. It started to get bad quickly, but I was still left vibing with the material.
Then, yeah, it turns out not so great. But that’s okay! This exists, and it looks pretty cool for the most part. If only a bit convoluted. I wasn’t pleased with the direction the story went. But I’ll go read the book now probably if I have time, hopefully it’s good and this just adapted it badly.
The Goldfinch is just such a sad thing to exist, such a shame really.
