It: Chapter Two is a decent end to Muschetti’s original It films. But it’s way too long, even though Stephen King’s novel is a behemoth. This has no reason to be nearly three hours long, and it’s a struggle to get through. I do like the casting, and all the actors are great, highlighted by James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader. But its runtime really weighs this film down, and the scares feel rather exhausting than scary. But Muschietti has something special in Welcome to Derry, and I’m excited to see where he takes this famous King story.
