Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street
PASSION AND CARE, everyone cares so so much during this whole thing and the love just seeps through this whole film. there’s a lot to cover when it comes to the history and it’s very easy to get swept up in it like why the show was made and the whimsical nostalgia of it all but it doesn’t, unlike another similar documentary type movie i know.

It’s 2:00 am, I’m still a little wine drunk and I’m crying over Big Bird singing Being Green at Jim Hensons funeral.

Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street
I may be young but I am somebody
I may be small but I am somebody
Beautiful children will grow up and make the whole world beautiful

i continue to believe with my whole heart that passionate and earnest content made for children is the most meaningful media this world has to offer.

edit: just told my mom she should watch this and she replied “I was a Sesame Street kid, you know!”. indeed i do know. was a large part of the reason i got so emotional watching this —thinking about her and her sisters watching this show bloom in my nana’s tiny southie apartment. she was raised by the Sesame Street love big time.
