Now this is what actor chemistry looks like.
Tom and Grant stars Grant Gustin and Tom Cavanagh in a short film produced and directed by Tom himself. This movie hinges on the chemistry between its leads, and if you’ve seen The Flash TV show, you know this is a match made in heaven.
The film takes place mostly inside a car, so their chemistry is the most important element, and it absolutely delivers. Tom plays the seasoned “been in the game” type, while Grant is the lighter-headed, more impatient partner. They bounce off each other perfectly.
I was slightly disappointed that the masked robbers didn’t turn out to be surprise cameos from The Flash cast, since the way the scene is framed makes it feel like Jessie T. Usher or someone else might pop up. But even without that, and aside from an off-screen voice cameo by Carlos Valdes, the short film thrives on the dynamic between Tom and Grant — and it works completely on its own, separate from their TV roles.
Overall, Tom and Grant is a great short to watch when you want something quick, fun, and full of great chemistry.
