The story of Rudolf Nureyev, whose escape to the West stunned the world at the height of the Cold War. With his magnetic presence, Nureyev emerged as ballet’s most famous star, a wild and beautiful dancer limited by the world of 1950s Leningrad. His flirtation with Western artists and ideas led him into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with the KGB.

rudolf is such an interesting person that it would be a crime to make a boring film about him.

"-We must all have a goal in life. It's important. If not, what's the point of living?-When did you know yours?-At the opera. I was six years old."
Beautiful movie about the art of ballet. i love with my all heart the movies during The Cold War from the point of view of the Soviet Union it’s always beautifully painful.

Technically it’s amazing but when it comes to the plot, the characters... very poor. The ending scene is so damn beautiful but the rest is a big no.
Ralph Fiennes, I’m so sorry!

If you go into this expecting to see a few cool dance sequences, you won't be dissapointed, but if you go in for a proper film you'll be annoyed and bored for a good chunk of the time. The camerawork seemed to want to feel grand but ended up mostly just being fake pretentious and at times sloppy. The acting was never great but also never terrible and the dance sequences were entertaining. Overall though, I was struggling to stay engaged and was annoyed frequently by the various poor technical decisions throughout.
