Even as a non Christian this movie doesn't feel so much alien to me, maybe that's because the overall ideas of faith are the same in almost all religions. In terms of cinematography this is a brilliant peice, the wide shots with almost numb expressions establish a melancholic environment. For a movie about Christian faith, it does a great job in establishing an atheist character and doesn't belittle his ideologies throughout the movie, albeit at the end he also gains faith in christ.
