„You threw a stone in the water. The ripples, you can't control. There are things to be scared of, but there's so much to celebrate."
If i saw tickets for this film being sold for free I wouldn’t even have given it a second look. The only reason I watched this movie was because my teacher made me watch it in chemistry class. Weirdly enough, I actually sat through the entire movie without being disappointed (or overly bored). I actually liked it.
It doesn’t only tell the story of Marie Curie, it shows how throughout history, men have swiped women’s ideas and discoveries and claimed them as their own. The deeper meaning being that we have to stand up for what’s right and not let anyone walk us down.
Weird thing to admit, but I was very fond of the soundtracks in this film. They fit the situations perfectly and represented what the protagonists were feeling in that exact moment. I believe that, apart from the acting and cinematography and camera work, music is one of, if not the most important part of a movie.
(Okay, maybe not the most important…)
Set all of that aside, it wasn’t the best thing ever. Sure, I’m making it seen that way, but there are better movies depicting historical figures’ lives.
But it was a “fun” rewatch, though! Not really fun, but it was nice to watch it again.
