oh.. this was even worse than i was expecting it to be.
the original don’t breathe film had to be one of my favourite home invasion horror films ever, it had a suspenseful atmosphere and i just liked that the tension was prioritised over the action side, this film just completely fli0s its around, and it just makes everything about the first film 100x worse, i HATE the shift tone.. a psychological horror perfectly fit the first film, and that was just replaced by cheap action sequences and gore, both being things which were unnecessary throughout the film. the pacing is just clunky, and the worst thing of all is the script. who’s idea was it to make this man have a redemption arc?? and also letting him having an adoptive daughter and the whole plot him trying to save her, not only is that extremely boring.. but it also tries to makes you sympathise with a rapist.. this film was just bad.
