interesting concept, but not interesting enough to drive an entie movie

relies on some jarring plot turns to keep the viewer engaged and the “entire movie is desktop screen recordings” schtick really gets old

feels better suited a video game than a movie (and i know many narrative video games have been made in this style, perhaps more since searching’s release)

9/10 didn’t know that Missing was basically a sequel off this. I do think that Searching just does the concept of this whole webcam/internet movie better. The uncle twist got me so good man. It through me through a whirlwind just for there to be another twist on that twist. I love movies that just reveal stuff in plain sight and that’s what this one does. Also this one hit me more on the emotional side than Missing.
