This mesmerizing masterpiece was made for me, and for me only. As a kid, I was obsessed with everything about Ancient Egypt, to the point where I was harassing everyone with details about mummy making process. Besides, mythology has always been one of my favorite subjects.
The animation is exceptional. The floating neon overlays, as a representation of the fluidity of the spiritual world, are genius, no less. The visuals are perfectly combined with soothing narration and ambient music. One of the most calming animation films ever.
Not going to lie, the power going out right after the line “In the womb of Night, the great god is transformed” definitely added to the mystical experience.
