mmmmmmmmmmm……..i was open to liking this and the first half was genuinely nice. a somber but hopeful depiction of a person struggling to get better while their loved ones do their best to support them despite the pain, and it was sorta real. i felt the dynamic between Ben and his mom. then the plot takes a complicated turn and characters start repeating themselves and the writing and acting gets a little weird and i got taken out of it. i see the vision but i guess it felt underbaked, trying to cross plot mountain checkmarks as fast as it can while not being that interesting. it’s not godawful, but just a little disappointing.
