Reminded me of the odd Blender visuals Death Grips had going on for their third LP, Government Plates (2013). I'm utterly confused trying to comprehend the techniques used in the creation of this, especially the minute details that take minutes to even notice
This feels like a cool reincarnation of the Eraserhead (1977) atmosphere. And frankly, the 25-year difference between the two films might be the most intriguing part. It somewhat sheds light on how Lynch reflected on his older work as a multidisciplinary artist, constantly moving toward something new. Considering how little Lynch went on to create in the same stylistic vein as Eraserhead later in his career, this felt to me like the cinematic equivalent of Radiohead playing “Creep” live after years of people wearing “I saw Radiohead at Austin City Limits and they didn’t even play Creep” trucker hats
That being said, the most I could’ve clearly gotten out of this would’ve been in an art museum. After roughly seven minutes, the hypnotic nature of this took on the effects of ambient/drone music and drove me into a pit of boredom-flavored drowsiness
