Georges Melies was ten steps ahead of every other filmmaker back in the day - this is comedy, this, for the time period, extremely well edited. The coloring wasn’t intolerable. The amount of time and effort going into his movies is leagues above anything else from the early 20th Century.
The score / piano tune was awesome as well!
