seventh log of frenchbruary
honestly, my favorite so far in this challenge. what a joy it is to watch humans imagine outer space beings as human, to see the sun and the moon in love, stealing a chance to meet (or fuck?) in the briefest second. it made me realize how long we’ve been romanticizing them, huh.
i also love the idea that meteor showers are women like yes, we are the stars! and finding out that méliès was the one who directed a trip to the moon felt almost embarrassing—how did i miss that? of course he knew exactly what he was doing. the french proving they were always a step ahead when it comes to cinema.
