As a former forklift operator at a big box store very similar to the one in this film, I can’t tell you how comforting it is to see that experience represented on screen. I feel like there are so few movies centered around a very specific area of working class jobs (grocery stores, warehouses etc.) so it’s cool to see one used as a vessel for a story like this. It’s very clear to me that Stuber, Meyer or both has had real life experience in this kind of job too, there are some little things, especially in the first 30ish minutes where Christian is learning the job, that I feel like you would have had to experienced to write. The screenplay reflects that, and I’m really glad it does.
