Lady in White

Wow, what a cozy movie this is. Feels weird to say that about a movie with child murder and racism, but somehow this movie manages it! You’ll be cringing at the way some characters are treated (including a tough to watch scene outside of the courtroom) and the next thing you know you’re in a Norman Rockwell painting!

But still some good elements that make it feel wholesome. We got a good group of characters that you come to love (Papa being a total scene stealer). In fact while I won’t delve into spoilers, let’s just say the reveal is kind of heartbreaking. It’ll have you saying “Not that person!”

The setting though was what really caught my eye! How they represent fall and winter was the cozy part I was talking about, makes you want to pull out the sweaters and hot chocolate, it really does set the mood well! And of course at the time of my viewing and review, the forecast for next week calls for mid 80s temps 😫 I want to be done with shorts and sandals for the season!

Really shocked to see the director is also the same who did Fear No Evil! Boy these movies couldn’t be any more different from each other! You’d expect this to be a Spielberg joint and not the guy behind a movie with lots of dick shots and death by dodgeball! Man I thought Bob Clark doing both A Christmas Story and Black Christmas was weird!

So high recommend, especially for the season!

I think if I had watched this as kid I would appreciate this more. I wish it was shorter, and I think the plot was all over the place,  however I did enjoy it overall. 
The vibes of this are fun and whimsical and definitely set the tone for not only the spooky season but the holiday season in general.
