OH MY GOD THIS MOVIE IS SO GOOD.
It doesn’t feel the same as its predecessor, which makes sense because it has a different director, but I feel like it was better off with a one that’s actually Chinese.
It has higher stakes, feeling more dangerous, which makes sense as the villain is now tied to Po’s story, rather than Tai-lung and Kai, who are more intertwined with Shifu and Oogway. It’s more personal for Po, and I love seeing his character development 😋😋
And the voice acting is amazing, I gotta say! They really nailed it with the darker tone. I love the moral of how you can move on from your trauma and find yourself, it’s very important for everyone to remember. And the animation, once again, beautiful.
I may have not watched every dreamworks franchise in a while, but I know that the sentiment of how the second one is the best every time is definitely correct. I eat it up!
And I love the gag of how Po was shocked that he was adopted… made me giggle. Love the noodles!
