Sandy Stone definitely has moments where she’s too much of a talking head. I think many of her points have stood the test of time, but some of her monologues just feel like rambling.
I also didn’t love how all of the gender identities were handled, particularly the trans men or masculine folks by Tornado.
It’s a very outdated documentary, which I don’t mean in an harsh way, but the world of gender has changed so much in such a short period of time. There’s almost no way something like this would’ve held up to today’s standards. Especially because it wasn’t made by a trans person.
I am grateful to the transgender folks who were willing to have their lives documented for this film. It’s always nice to see our history and see people like me from decades passed.
