To be honest, I was expecting more since Mimic is a Guillermo del Toro film and features some brilliant actors. It's decent, but more than a little formulaic, which really killed a lot of the tension for me since I knew what was coming. With that being said, though, Mira Sorvino and Jeremy Northam gave great performances, and I loved seeing young Josh Brolin play a wise-cracking cop; the special effects makeup was disgustingly good, too, as was the score. On the whole, I can't say Mimic is my favourite of del Toro's filmography, but I'm happy I gave it a watch anyway.
