Pretty solid, very somber sci fi flick. It's slow and repetitive, sure, but it's also extremely harrowing, especially in the back half, and it left me with a real empty feeling as the credits rolled over a final shot that will absolutely stick in my memory. The overall plot left me wanting a little, especially for more about the reconstruction of society between the cults and the captain's cabal of high class aristocrats, but at the end of the day it kept the focus more personal and I think that served the plot well enough. Overall I think this movie is worth watching.

holy depressing

nothing on earth could make me watch a space movie, but i'm so glad i gave this one a chance.

a strong depiction of nihilism and how differently humans behave based upon their perspective of it, one thing was common amongst all which is hope and how humans desperately convince themselves to hold on to it in order to keep them alive, but sooner or later some will lose this hope and its either because they think they know the truth and the fact that our existence is meaningless or as this film described ( a small bubble in the cup of gods ) or because they don't care no more and it can be both and that image was well depicted in this film, 
this film had some flaws they couldve made it better, some details weren't sensible like how they somehow had enough supplies to survive for 5981407 years on what was supposed to be a 3 week flight
other than that this movie was disturbingly relevant and its core idea was great
