Damn did not expect this to be so good.
It has the same charm as Silver Bullet in being such a classic werewolf tale, although a different one, and also having such a funny tone shift from wholesome family movie to brutal horror.
The dog and werewolf dynamic was great, I’m suprised I haven’t seen that trope more often.
The biggest strength of this movie is it’s werewolf design though wow. Not incredibly original or anything but just so solid, reminds me of the Van Helsing design but it’s fully practical so it looks a lot better. I especially noticed how great the sound design was, really unique and terrifying roars and growls.
The action and kills also delivered really nicely which is honestly rare.
It has some weak acting and dialouge but I actually really likes how the story played out especially the setup of the finale and the ending.
Defiently an underrated werewolf gem. I’m sad that it’s title is a bit of a American Werewolf in London ripoff since Bad Moon Rising is the iconic song from that movie.
