Was that gay all the time omg

This is one of my favorite cartoons as a kid for a reason
Not only it’s a science fiction adventure like story with thriller and detective elements 

I love how there’s a lot of characters but they all have a purpose. It’s amazing screenwriting 
I absolutely love everything about this 

Though I think that the pace is too fast but it’s for children with short attention span, so I think it works well too

Hey, remember the pinball number count segments from Sesame Street? What if we took that and merged it with the style of Rene Laloux, add a splash of Saturday Morning Cartoons™, then facefuck it with 2001: A Space Odyssey, but instead of it being a treatise on humanity and our place amongst the cosmos, it's about 2 guys and a child trying to find cool space creatures to put in their zoo? You like that? Yeah I bet you do.

It's undeniably a film aimed at children but The Secret of the Third Planet is so wonderfully fuzzed out and psychedelic with its uniquely weird and trippy approach to character and environment design and an impressively vibrant colour palette that it's pretty much a match made in heaven for the stoner crowd. It's the kind of thing [adult swim] would've dubbed over as an April Fools joke back in like 2008 as the lead-in to a 12 oz. Mouse special.
