i like tragic endings where no one dies. it somehow makes it more tragic because both of them are alive and well yet they still choose not to be together.
killing someone off feels tacky to me, a bit like a scam, because tears are always guaranteed once some gay boy commits suicide or dies of cancer...but when societal pressure is holding them apart rather than mortality? mmm! thats the good stuff. the real doomed yaoi.
