at first all I could think of was brokeback mountain, then got frustrated w the lack of dialogue (I was assigned this for an assignment) then became so invested. Big fan of this documentary style, the closest you can be to a “fly on the wall” not interfering simply observing.

though structurally this is similar to leviathan, it's definitely not as abstract or surreal and that's to it's detriment. after the first 30 min it didn't feel like it had anything new to offer. however, i did appreciate how they captured the frustration of the ranchers as they traveled and at some points it was even comical how angry they'd get at the animals, but honestly i would be the same way.
