Miss bala is a fun, serviceable with a pretty cool performance by Gina Rodriguez. While the movie may fall into alot of cliches, tropes and may feel a little generic I still think there are some bright spots.
As mentioned before the movie falls into alot of tropes and nothing will really surprise you. What I will say otherwise I wish the movie went a little harder with the shocking elements. Without that edge it really makes miss bala feel a little generic.
The good parts here are Gina Rodriguez. She plays Gloria just right and has some cool moments near the end. Anthony Mackie isn't in the movie alot but I liked his character.
The story definitely feels seen before but if you are in the mood for a fun turn your brain off action thriller it works.
