This filmic portrait is born of a double movement: the meeting of Lena Vandrey with our cinematographic universe, our meeting with her pictorial world, her space and her collection of processional figures and articulated dolls. Crossings of imaginations, of mythologies: the South, the origins, the search for a "greecity", the search for the magical potential of the image, the feminine one as "force in love". Crossings of plastic gestures: one on canvas support, the other on photographic and filmic support. We invited the artist to become herself body-painting, filmed painting. We have staged her texts, her paintings, her objects, her space. Attempt to reveal it as an embodiment of its own mythology.

The Amazonian Angel
A meditative exploration of the beauty of art and it's meaning to man. The way it shapes us, defined by it and our vision of it. Art is human.

The Amazonian Angel
What does Angel exactly look like? Nobody knows.
Does it have wings? Does it have a halo? Does harpy count as an angel? Then if demon has wings, does it count as an angel?

This movie is so poetic and i actually had a hard time to understand it, but this is how i interpret this movie.

For me this movie is about a girl who lives without parental figure, her mother's sick, and her father abandones them, giving her no other choice but to find a job to provide. She had no guider, she had no safe place, she lived by herself, she survived by her own. And this kinda childhood obviously affected her, she travelled to many countries to find a job, but for me, she did not actually travel, she was experiencing an identity crisis without parental figure, she literally tried to find herself. She has no basics for what she wanna be until she found art. She found herself in art, she never liked human beings, so she created ones.

For her, day is a time when people are socializing, going to work or doing whatever they want. And she used that time for her to sleep. But when night came, when people are taking some rest, she used that time to socialize, with no one but her own creation, with the "people" she wanted people to be. She only connected to other "people" at night, when everyone is quiet.

She was the Angel herself this whole time.
She gave a better life to her own creations that she never had in her life.

The sound design and cinematography were definitely the showstopper. It’s incredible to see the range of visuals that were illustrated in this film. This is definitely not made for the average film watcher, but holy is it quality.
