The premise of this film is unique and different, dark and hilarious. If you know Martin Freeman's style of humour, dry, dark and honest, it is essentially that throughout the entire films plot and characters. It's humour will not be for most, as experienced as one of possibly eight people laughing throughout at the macbre, soul crushing humour, and the nonsensical scenes which leaves the viewer simply asking: Why?
To counter: Why not?
However, it does turn into the stereotypical rom-com as the film progresses, leaving a bittertaste in the mouth of what could have been with such a fresh idea.
Spoiler
Melissa Rauch character performing Zombie by The Cranberries on cello, is something I have never realized I was missing from my life. Iconic 🙏
