This was a very interesting and entertaining interpretation of Emily Dickinson as well as of the relationship between Emily and Sue that was for so long hidden and adjusted to societal standards just like her poems themselves.
However, as a die hard Emily Dickinson fan there was a few details within this that just didn’t sit right with me; like the house of Sue and Austin, the representation of Austin’s mistress and majorly the way that Emily’s desk in this movie was not facing her window, which is such an important muse to her poetry.
Overall though, I am pleased to have more Emily Dickinson representation, everyone needs to put some respect on this genius’ name.
