I really went back in time while watching this one. You can definitely tell it's one of the older Marvel movies, the storyline didn't always add up and felt boring at certain points. Overall, it was okay. The character design looked decent, but the effects just weren't there, though that's understandable given the year it was released.

but yes this is batshit insane and incredibly boring at the same time. the first hour of this shit (bar like two minutes) plays like an episode of grays anatomy.

It’s a tv pilot. Sure it’s technically a “movie” in concept but it’s barely a made for tv movie when you know this was straight up supposed to be a show.

Sobre el papel, el personaje del Doctor Extraño es quizás uno de los más difíciles de digerir: un médico que se convierte en un hechicero místico que tiene que luchar contra malvados magos. Todo muy sobrenatural si lo comparamos con los mundos de Spiderman y Hulk. Aquí es donde los medios televisivos y la escasez de presupuesto juegan en contra. No deja de ser la televisión de finales de los 70 donde no existía la respetabilidad que la pequeña pantalla tiene hoy día. Además, la historia y el casting tampoco es que ayuden. El señor que interpreta al Doctor Extraño, un tal Peter Hooten, tiene una pinta de actor porno setentero que echa mucho para atrás. Si a esto añadimos la realización típica de la época con sus zooms y su música funky el resultado es de un patetismo bastante simpático.
