watched My Hero Academia: Two Heroes thinking it was gonna be a cute side trip but the second deku touched that island i already knew something stupid was about to happen because his life is literally just problem after problem. but i can’t lie the setting carried, like everything felt bigger, richer, more “oh this is actually a hero society outside school” instead of just UA over and over again
and then they randomly hit me with feelings?? like why is deku looking at all might like that bro relax. and all might trying to act okay when he clearly isn’t… yeah that part lowkey sat with me longer than the actual plot. i did not open this movie to think about their relationship like that but here we are
the villains tho… i’m sorry but they were just there to get punched. i wasn’t invested in them at all, i was just waiting for the moment deku and all might lock in together
AND WHEN THEY DID?? yeah that final fight saved everything. suddenly the animation goes insane, the pacing tightens, and it actually feels important. like not even “movie extra” anymore, just straight up good
bakugo still being loud for no reason but somehow always right will never not be funny. man contributes through pure anger and it works every time
overall this movie feels like mha when it stops overthinking and just does what it’s good at. it’s not deep, it’s not trying to change your life, but it knows exactly how to hit that sweet spot between hype and a bit of unexpected emotion
5/5
lowkey just deku getting dragged into another disaster but this time with better lighting and budget
