At first I was struggling to understand the main protagonist as to why she would have so below the average acting skills when her father got killed.
It felt unprofessional that she's so calm as if nothing had happened but in the opening scenes it seems like that she might have a reason as to why did she reacted the way she did. She seemed pretty reluctant with her father at the beginning as if he's already in another world in his head due to depression or something related to his wife.
On top of that he was pretty careless and selfish for dropping her daughter in a situation like this. She didn't even know what is home, maybe in all her life she was in space. God, even when she was 12 she had to crawl up inside aliens because of her body being small.
We as viewers didn't get anything explicit regarding her calmness, but there's details that could point somwhere. I really like how most of the time there's none in the narrative that tells something straightaway. The writers only show some bulletpoints and let's us do everything else.
I felt that the length was a bit short but as a sci-fi with DIY set design and everything I'm even surprised that it made it into publishing.
