Watched it cause it’s got two things that draw me in like a moth to a flame. Suki Waterhouse and Josh Hutcherson. I’m really nosy and would love to know if they got paid for this or if they just did it for the love of cinema which I think it’d probably be the latter with maybe little pay cause it only made 25k for worldwide release with it being an indie film. I’m surprised more people haven’t seen it cause it was good and it looked good visually and I think more people should watch it and give everyone involved in making it their flowers. Tilda killed it in this role in my opinion cause when watching Melinda I didn’t feel like I was watching an actor act but like I was actually watching this very clearly unstable and unsettling character that was waiting for something like that to happen like a ticking time bomb which I was lowkey rooting for her till she tried to do that one thing then I was rooting for Billy and I don’t like that she made me root for the man but I did like that it makes you switch who you’re rooting for cause in this situation there was no good guy or bad guy but morally grey. Seeing Josh play the ‘villain’ was a little jarring to try to see at first cause all his roles and mainly Peeta just make you see him as this loveable nice character in films which I think played a little to the comedy aspect of it cause you’re just not use to seeing him play this type of character. He’s a national treasure if you ask me. I would actually love to get a sequel and know what happens with the characters after the ending but then again I don’t cause I like sometimes when films leave it up to the audience to decide for themselves how things went.

First stumbled across this gem while dissecting Josh Hutcherson's discography. Burn is an indie example of how much can be done in one setting and how it's characters can make it so interesting. Fucked up things in this, but Hutcherson has cunty periced ears and his role is a step outside of the castibility box he was put into by Hunger Games. This film is weakest at it's editing & cinematography. The only justifiable use of a Zoom shot was revealing Billy holding up the gas station...besides that it's a reminder we need to stop over using zoom & calling it cinematography. However, yes, I will keep watching this, and recommending to any JH fan.
