A perfect movie. A perfect performance. And a perfect art. So vicious on the body, and yet you never see it. You only see this beautiful image, yet underneath it is some really grotesque detail. Ballet is seeking perfection, it's seeking beauty. It's all ephemeral, therefore it's beautiful. Everything is in a performance, not captured on camera forever. Most of the time is not captured anywhere. It exists for a moment, as beauty does. As ballerinas do, until they don't. Until their forsaken body and soul gives up from exhaustion and rot to death. They lost their lives seeking perfection. They're all striving for one single moment of perfection. They'll work tirelessly and destroy themselves to find that perfection. They're masochistic people that like to torture themselves. They try making their body achieve something that a body is never really gonna achieve. They're trying to get this beautiful line, and rotate their legs completely 180 degrees, something a body it's not meant to do. It's a pursuit. They can never achieve perfection. Yet some say that there is beauty in it's pursuit. Suicide never looked so beautiful.
