bruhhhh i'm really laughing my ass off at a blackface gag. obviously you could say this about everything Buster Keaton ever did but damn that was genius. this was made over a hundred years ago but surprisingly, the use of blackface doesn't feel cheap at all. mainly because of how funny it is, but also because the humor does not come at the expense of black people. and also, considering how cops are portrayed in his films, the social commentary here doesn't feel like a complete accident and that's just how i'm choosing to interpret it.
