Great plot twist and is probably the only time I have ever seen a Buster Keaton film with a twist

man i haven’t watched a buster keaton film in a while and so today i was very much in the mood for a good little buster keaton viewing and i landed on this one titled the love nest from the year 1923 and just like the other countless of many films that starred buster keaton this one was no different from those since we have our beloved leading man getting himself in yet another chaotic predicament as he usually tends to do in his films and you know when it comes to a buster film it’s gonna be just filled with so many hilarious sequences of him being so foolish and that’s what the audience loved about his films and about him was that he knew how to be comedic and that’s something that i will always love when it comes to his films because he truly is such an important icon when it comes to the silent film era!

Dearest,
Since you have canceled our engagement, I have decided not to marry you. I’m leaving to sail around the world so that I will forget you.
Yours, but not anymore, Buster
p.s. If you do not receive this letter, write me.
For me, one of my favorite letters in movies of all time, Buster’s fan forever

there were so many moments from this short that i loved - buster sealing the letter with his tears - the beard that was most definitely drawn on - "all hands on deck" buster proceeding to get down on his knees and physically put his hands on the deck - buster playing a card game whilst waiting for the boat to sink
