Please wake up.
Perhaps one of the most vibey horror movies I’ve ever seen. No matter how many times I rewatch this movie I can’t help but just become fully immersed in the feel of it; the eerie, lonely, liminal, quiet tragedy of it all. Between the dream sequences, there are so many moments that envelop you in a feeling of unspoken desperation and longing, in a way that oddly reminds me of the movie Columbus from 2017. It’s also the kind of movie that doesn’t piss you off whenever a dream sequence happens, it’s the kind of movie that leaves you excited to see the dream sequences and piece together what the imagery within them could possibly mean. And I cannot stress it enough, this movie has a top 10, maybe top 5 depending on the day, musical scores of all time for me. I’m not joking. It is genuinely so fucking good. My only gripe with this movie is that the ending sequence feels a little too drawn out, but the ending itself is really great in my opinion.
