I really loved this movie- the charisma of Ms Brodie is so enticing and then you realize that she’s talking mighty fine about Italy in 1932, and it’s all downhill from there.

Maggie Smith as Jean Brodie is superb, but Pamela Franklin’s performance as Sandy is absolutely fantastic.

This film went in a direction I did NOT see coming for a British, 1960s, coming-of-age story. The unraveling of Jean Brodie's true nature was so periodical and calculated that it can make the viewer feel completely unsettled and terrified of what's to come in second half of the movie.
