I don't know where to start, first I love the colorimetry of the movie so much, it's beautiful, every scene is so special, I love the angles and how blue the movie looks except at the end, where everything becomes warm. All the scenes of them were so beautiful, the tonality they had made it look like a dream, almost as if everything was false and you wanted to think that everything that happens is real and permanent, why is it so poetic? I love all the parallels and references to Kafka's Metamorphosis. It's incredible how the relationship of the protagonists is built, the dialogues are so smart and almost all of Miyuri and Tsumugi's dialogues left me stunned.
"I thought if I got close to you, you'd disappear."
that’s one of many dialogues that resonated in me, not only is increadible depressing and heartbreaking, but so deep and the same time, like before all happened, that phase was figurative, but then became real in the end. No only that, I think the relationship between Miyuri and Tsumugi it’s so complex, I love how their relationship can be interpretative not only about friendship, but something deeper than that, more intimate.
I found it so cute the way Miyuri look at Tsumugi when everyone talks about love, because Tsumugi was the fist person that see her for what she really are, she saw the beauty in her, and how she’s worth it.
"Did you know that insects have no sensation of pain? They can't feel pain. You know why? Because they soon die. Pain has no function when they have such short lives. It would be pointless to feel pain. But listen, your life has real value."
I like to see it as if they fell in love. What a shame for
that end
"Would you still love me if I was a silkworm?"
