While I see the appeal of the movie (and also acknowledge the fact that I’ve recently been spoiled by the amount of fantastic animated movies I’ve seen), this one just didn’t hit for me. Or as hard as I wanted it to.
The animation is very cool, but I do feel like there’s just other movies/media that do a better job of it (i.e; Yellow Submarine, School House Rock, etc.). It feels a tad too choppy in my opinion (again, probably because of how spoiled I’ve been with animation recently), and the story was… okay.
I also watched this movie dead sober, so perhaps I got out of this what I put in. Only time will tell. Regardless, probably something I won’t watch again, but glad I did (especially since I got to see it for free, shoutout Tubi).
