Martin was a normal teenage boy before the country collapsed in an empty pit of economic and political disaster. A vampire epidemic has swept across what is left of the nation's abandoned towns and cities, and it's up to Mister, a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin safely north to Canada, the continent's New Eden.

Possibly the best vampire film i have ever seen. Brought me to tears. Emotional, deep, beyond the usual blood and teeth.

Hooptober 2025
11/31

Honestly kind of boring. Also very distracting that they used Warcraft sound effects for so much of this. The ending is just like this weird emotional rug pull where we just immediately move on from the climax like it never happened.

There’s some themes that shine through about building your group and supporting each other although it competes with the ruthless self interest. Martin has definitely learned to be a bit more ruthless by the end, not sure if Mister is swayed at all. The Brotherhood really resonates as a villain in 2025.

Mediocre execution on a plot that is kind of weak. The raw material is there, so I’d consider watching the second in case they figured it out a bit more by then.

Hooptober 12
Film #13

Not a bad film, just forgettable. I doubt I'll remember much of it in a week from now.
