This is certainly one of the most interesting films I’ve ever seen. This takes a real life story and turns it into an animated film. The animation seems sloppy and uneven but it still looks amazing. The animation reminds of the real world where there’s supposed to be this balance of life but our approach to a peaceful and perfect society is unsteady and imperfect. It’s really interesting how this man found true love for 15 years and it was a dog. You can perfectly see how much he thinks about and cares for his dog by the constant narration of the embarrassing, exciting or horrid moments. The humor towards the second half of the film is surprisingly entertaining by how odd it is because it’s usually about Salinger trying to get Tulip to mate. Every person’s road to happiness isn’t the same, sometimes there isn’t need of a soulmate and just simply any sort of love that’s strong enough is eligible to make anyone happy.
