What a bizarre, impressively detailed, weirdly beautiful world. 

The world building was so well made. Every character was so interesting, I wanted to know everyone’s backstories as to how they ended up where they are now. 

The dark comedy is right up my alley. Love love love. 

We all struggle with self doubt every now and then, with loneliness especially caused by one’s own thoughts and fears. How I see it is that this entire movie, the entire world it shows you, the train station, is a living embodiment of wasting your potential. Not answering the call to action. And the consequences that may come with that.

The girl in the bear costume, the owl, the train chase, the hooded figure. These are some factors that I am a little confused by icl.

Generally not a big fan of relying on symbols, but at this point this movie doesn’t use them — it just retells Inferno word for word, bar for bar. And what a retell that is. It captures every essence of the Inferno lore perfectly. The vodka joke was brilliant.

This has officially become one of my ultimate favourites. Kontroll is a hypnotic ride through Budapest’s underground—literally and emotionally. Think dark comedy mixed with drama and weirdness, all gritty, silly, and full of hidden meanings. It’s funny and existentially tragic.

Director Nimród Antal somehow makes metro ticket inspectors into these cool, messed-up heroes. They're stuck in this in-between place full of lost souls, strange office workers, and a menacing hooded serial killer. The film feels real but also like a dream, always on the verge of turning into something totally unreal.

Funny, violent, strange, and melancholic—it’s the perfect mix if your humour’s as dark as the tunnels it’s set in. An underrated masterpiece, and honestly, there’s nothing else quite like it.
