i deeply regret that i used to think some movie i watched before the extremity were bad. you were good guys 💔

actually about the movie: the concept is FIRE and it made me fantasize about how you can outplay it, the implementation is super bad. like literally only thing i want to do with this movie is flush it down the toilet

gore, guts, sex, rape, voyeurism, japanese strange pervs etc are here so if you are a fan — enjoy it

Cool premise, okay execution, bad writing. 

Had potential but felt too focused on ‘mental health bad’ rather than exploring the characters trauma in a meaningful way.

Super duper corny. Like, rivals Some Kind Of Hate for its late-mall-goth, stale-deathcore, guyliner-lipring-42-year-old vibes. Rob Zombie misprision with emphasis on the “yeah, it’s torture pron” and “frickin’ twisted” pop-psych edginess. 

Love it. Just so silly, just falling so hard on its face. If you’re going to do this kind of bullshit, at least commit. Give me extras from Batman Forever pretending they’re in Hostel. Flashbacks that are snot-smearing nonsense. I kept thinking it was going to zig or zag into something bigger and more interesting but it just doubles down in a way that is so stupid I have to admire it. Just a real sign of a good-bad movie when you say out loud “No. No. Are you kidding me?”

I don’t live in the America this movie comes from but I enjoyed the tour.

A credit on this movie was the chicken enforcer was played by Snow Mercy.
