Horus: Prince of the Sun
The bones of Ghibli. Horus is stoic, principled, burdened with the kind of world saving that no child should have to carry. He’s not just fighting monsters, he’s fighting apathy, division, the collapse of community. But the real soul of the film is Hilda, shes cold, haunting, emotionally armoured, caught between destruction and a quiet longing for connection. Her presence shifts the entire tone. This isn’t a straightforward good vs evil tale, it’s about the weight of trauma, the pain of choice and how hard it is to belong when you’ve been shaped by darkness.
You’ve got the exiled boy with impossible responsibility, the crumbling world caught between human greed and natural harmony, and the girl, raised by the enemy who’s more tragic than villainous, the village torn apart by fear and giant animals being corrupted by dark forces. Sounding familiar…?
You can literally feel Ghibli bleeding out through every jagged frame, it’s rough, it’s revolutionary, it’s unsure of itself but it’s absolutely brimming with intent. Holy shit this is ahead of it’s time.

Definitely his weakest feature, but by no means bad and a decent beginning with nice songs and pleasant story.

Horus: Prince of the Sun
Interesante para ver los inicios de uno de los grandes directores de la animación, y como influiría en obras posteriores.
