Go Paul Newman, give us nothing!
As a film adaptation, this does very little to elevate its strong source material, but John Malkovich steals all of his scenes. This is so much better on stage

'The Glass Menagerie' (& other Williams works) has been my biggest interest for a while. While this does very much read as a play adaptation, and while (in my mind) it is nowhere near as good as the stageplay, it doesn't matter. Everyone's performances are killer, John Malkovich as Tom Wingfield was something the world needed. Oh the Wingfields how you make me sick. I've seen this film 4 times now and every time I am a wreck. Ough

the performances and the direction are both really good but i just felt a little disengaged throughout. John Malkovich really stands out and made the movie for me

Clever direction, the camera lingers like a ghost which gives the movie a haunted feeling,
Anyways, been in a massive film slump and decided to watch the movie of the play I’m in. It’s better as a play, but John Malkovich eats as Tom.
