Though married to the good-natured, beautiful Thérèse, young husband and father François finds himself falling unquestioningly into an affair with an attractive postal worker. One of Agnès Varda's most provocative films, 'Le bonheur' examines, with a deceptively cheery palette and the spirited strains of Mozart, the ideas of fidelity and happiness in a modern, self-centered world.

A film so beautiful it almost tricks me into forgetting how cruel happiness can be.

Everyday I’m reminded that I wouldn’t be at all attracted to men if I was a woman
Wow, that was brutal. Agnes Varda did her job very well, because words cannot describe my disgust for Francois. Fuck Emilie too. Absolute bozos these two are. Agnes varda just brings out so much emotion in this movie, like I could barely even watch the end. And I know this is kinda lame of me, but I did just want a bit more satisfying of an ending. Thérèse was wayyy to kind and patient to that man. Shoulda punched him in the balls or something idk. Overall definitely a good movie, very well done, very well edited, but yeah that ending wrecked me. It’s forever fuck you francios
Shoutout guilleemmr for this very good recommendation! If you’d like to recommend me a movie you can comment on this list, I’ll add it and eventually give it a watch: Recommend me a movie list
