cute baby. honestly, the cutest little baby. i’m not entirely sure what’s going on with the reception to this because i thought it was very, very good. not perfect, but way better than i expected and honestly really underrated.
the concept is clearly trying to be quite complex, maybe even more complex than it needed to be, but the execution worked really well. the plot does a lot in under two hours and it stayed entertaining the whole time. i liked how everything eventually linked together and how the time travel explanation slowly came into focus, even if i wasn’t fully sure what to think until she basically confirmed it near the end. loved that monologue though att the end though. acting wise it was solid. boyd holbrook was very good, and cleopatra coleman was great too, even though she doesn’t get that much screen-time. michael c. hall, as much as i love him, just wasn’t really it here. maybe because he wasn’t in it enough. bokeem woodbine was fun, especially with the way he says “shit”, but they also made him a bit of a joke and gave him no real depth, which was a shame.
visually, the first two-thirds looked really good, sometimes amazing, and then it randomly became a bit more bland, almost like the director changed halfway through. not a massive downgrade, more like going from a 9 to a 7, maybe a 6, but still noticeable.
some things didn’t fully make sense to me, especially the weapon from the future and why it had to work that way instead of something simpler, but whatever. i still had a lot of fun with it. very enjoyable, very underrated, and much better than people seem to give it credit for.

Hidden gem. Spectacular plot. Good acting. Sometimes the good people have to do some bad things. Not everything is at it seems. The plot twist hits hard.

Die grundsätzliche Idee ist wirklich spannend, nur leider hapert es an der Umsetzung.
Die Richtung des Plots wird relativ früh offensichtlich, sodass das Ende, der „große Plottwist“ etwas underwhelming ist und daher eher so semi funktioniert.
