The big what if Superman was evil, I like it. It was fine, solid all around. I wouldn’t say it’s anything super special to write home about but I was entertained throughout. The dad was both likeable, unlikable, reasonable and unreasonable, he was quite hard to get a read on and I still don’t know how I feel about his character. The mom was done super well and so was Brandon. Bad guy was a weird choice for an outro song in my opinion, it definitely ruined the ending vibe just a little bit. They also kind of abandoned the little girls arc but whatever. Still solid though, will watch again eventually.

This is a very good and very creepy horror slasher for a late night scare!

The movie has a sick concept. Honestly, I think it is a good movie, but I also think this could’ve been FANTASTIC with a longer runtime to develop a deeper story. It kind of feels like the kid goes on a murder spree for nothing. I understand it’s supposed to be an “in his nature” kind of thing as a counter to the general depiction of Superman’s inherent “good nature”, but even an extra 5-10 minutes of developing reasoning/cause for Brandon’s turn, or even some internal struggle about the meaning of his powers, would’ve made the last half of the movie sooo much more meaningful. After all, the entire concept of this movie is supposed to be a “what if a Superman-like character turns/is evil”.
